Hey, I’m Ray.
Songwriter. Storyteller. Husband. Dad. The kind of person who can find an entire spiritual metaphor in a rainstorm—and probably turn it into a song before dinner.
I live in Idaho, make music in a home studio, and spend a lot of time thinking about the space between who we are and who we are becoming.
Music has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. So has getting things wrong. Somewhere along the way, I discovered those two facts make surprisingly good material—and that grace tends to show up right in the middle of both.
These days I write original songs, develop a graphic novel called FROM ASH, dig into Scripture with friends, and try to make creative work that tells the truth without pretending the journey is tidy.
I’m married to Shasta, proud to be Rain’s dad, and regularly outmaneuvered by Ryder, our black Lab and undisputed director of recreational ball activities.
WHY “NOT JUST US”?
Because the story was never only ours.
NOT JUST US is a reminder that we were not meant to carry everything alone. Not our doubts, our failures, our ambitions, or our pain. God is with us—and when we make room for each other, grace has a way of finding the cracks.
